Max Blue is a journalist and cultural critic whose work engages visual art through the lens of politics, social justice and community preservation.
He has written for BOMB, Cultured Magazine and Hyperallergic, among other publications, and he is the art critic for the San Francisco Examiner.
His Pushcart Prize-nominated short fiction has appeared in The MacGuffin, Mount Hope Magazine and North Dakota Quarterly, among others, and he was a 2026 finalist for the James Alan McPherson Prize.
He is currently writing his first novel.
